Alarms, phone calls, police...and some advice
I'm at work and I get a message on my cell phone from the home security company telling me that the front door alarm was triggered. As I'm calling the wife to see where she is, I get a message that the police are on their way over. I finally get through to the wife and she says she's on her way home because the police are there and the door is wide open.
In between phone calls, the alarm company leaves another message that the motion detectors were triggered a dozen times after the initial door alarm was triggered. The police greet my wife at the door and ask her to do a quick run through the house. Nothing looks disturbed; everything is where it should be.
It seems Fed-Ex dropped a package in the front door, and somehow it triggered the alarm. The motion detectors were triggered as a result of the police doing their initial search through the house.
Lesson for Fed-Ex....if you happen to set a house alarm off, call the main office and have them leave a message at the house, just for a little peace of mind for the occupants.

Triangle headlight
Aris Triangle Headlight:
Yesterday - $20.00
Today - $400.00
Replica - $100.00
As you can see, there are three versions of a triangle headlight here. The leftmost one the 70s no-name, the middle is the AEE version, and the rightmost is the Aris model. Note that the wrinked metal corners appear on the no-name and only slightly on the AEE version, whereas the Aris model has a nice flow to it. Also, as you can see, only the Aris has the logo marked on the glass lens.
On this profile shot the no-name is first, the Aris is second, and the AEE is third. Both the Aris and AEE are notably more slender than the no-name. However, the AEE is the only model to be sandwiched with blue plastic, which I'm sure looks killer while riding at night!
From the back is the no-name at left, the AEE center, and the Aris at right. Note how the Aris and AEE headlights have a more angled back whereas the no-name looks very square.

Bike ideas from an undecided...
I've been daydreaming about minor modifications I want to make to the XL 1200R. Small stuff at first, but I want to change the look of the bike. Below is what I have to work with, and some ideas.
*keeping the swingarm on this one
Tall, tapered sissy bar that fits into side plates. Small pad on the low end for passenger (wife's preference).
Haven't made a decision on pipes, air cleaner or headlight yet.
Send me some ideas, advice on direction to take, parts, or a case of PBR to settle me thoughts.
